What is compassion resilience?

Compassion resilience helps professionals and caregivers maintain compassionate teaching and caregiving in difficult situations without being overwhelmed by stress, stigma and second-hand trauma.
The Wisconsin Initiative for Stigma Elimination (WISE) and Rogers InHealth developed compassion resilience toolkits that are informed by lived experience. These toolkits are informed by research related to resilience, secondary traumatization, positive psychology, mindfulness, and compassion fatigue.
These toolkits are meant to provide resources to build the capacity of helping professionals, educators, caregivers and the systems in which they serve. Community Children's Center staff are trained in facilitating these toolkits in partnership with WISE and RogersInHealth.
